Like I sais when you asked about handlebars, try GSResources.com. I'm starting on an 83 GS650L, previously built an 82 GS750T, and the folks on that site were a lot of help. Fatten up the fuel curve, you've got a very common mid-range "dead spot". Both GS fours I've played with had it, and upping the main jet size and opening up the airscrews took care of the problem. Also, check your valves for tension. Both GS fours have/had pretty good top end rattles. You aren't supposed to, but a light polishing of the stem tips with emery cloth helped quiet down the 750.
